Billy&Bobby

Synopsis

Two incompetent but lucky thieves, Billy and Bobby, enter their headquarters after another success. Billy realizes that frequent petty theft is too risky and convinces his partner to make a big score that allows them to stop stealing. He describes his last robbery as the greatest ever. Bobby is not happy with his partner’s ambitions, because he is already satisfied with everything and does not want to change anything. But after much thought, Bobby accepts this crazy idea and the partners proceed to develop a plan. Bobby and Billy realize they need beer to think better. Billy and Bobby go to the store to buy beer and discuss possible options for theft. On the way home, their conversation is interrupted by two eco-activists running out of the gallery with empty buckets in their hands, pursued by a security guard. A passerby talks about a painting sprinkled with soup. Billy does not understand how it is useful to deprive the viewer of the painting. At this moment, he realizes that the ideal object for robbery is a masterpiece of world art. Bobby supports this idea. Inspired by the new goal, the partners sit on a bench and open a beer. Toasting they see two maintainers with a ladder. In the evening, Billy and Bobby are standing near the entrance to the art gallery in work clothes and holding a ladder in their hands. Billy says a ladder and work clothes open all the doors. Partners nod at each other and enter the gallery. Billy and Bobby enter the gallery before it closes. They pass by a security guard, who looks at them, but does not consider them. Billy and Bobby make their way through the flow of tourists in closing. The girl at the reception watches the agitated workers and greets them smiling. Billy and Bobby climb the stairs to the upper floor where the painting is waiting for them. In the corridor they find an employee of the hall, who asks them permission to do the work. Thieves are in trouble, but at the most tense moment, the employee’s phone rings and asks to wait a minute. Billy and Bobby go unnoticed. The two thieves are sitting on the floor in the gallery room waiting for the cleaning lady to leave. As soon as she leaves, the lights go out. The thieves wait for complete silence and proceed to the final part of the plan. They pull out torches and go in search of the painting. Bobby watches excitedly each artwork as Billy goes straight to a specific masterpiece. Billy arrives at the painting and stops in front of it and is electrocuted. Bobby reaches him and looks at the object of the theft with greed. Bobby, in the shadows, praises the painting and talks about its market value. However, Billy, fascinated by the painting, remains silent and motionless as a statue and does not hear his partner. Bobby calls into action, but then an alarm sounds. The frightened Bobby realizes that he must escape and tries to bring back to reality Billy, who does not react. After a few more attempts, Bobby hears the footsteps of the incoming guards and escapes alone. He stops at the end of the room and turns to his friend. Billy, still standing in front of the painting, is too fascinated to move a single muscle. Bobby leaves. After the credits, Billy and Bobby are sitting in a prison room. Bobby, sad by the failure, looks as Billy, satisfied, paints on an easel a replica of the picture.
