Synopsis
After years of mega-droughts, the environment has become an arid wasteland. A lone survivor faces the harsh challenges of living in a desert by travelling to a man-made oasis. Here the dry heat of the sun, wind and sandstorms are a constant physical and mental challenge that trigger memories of the environmental disasters that led to the destruction of these once arable lands.
This film is the second instalment in a trilogy called A Dressing the Future that focuses on resilience and ingenuity as an antidote to big budget films that perpetuate fear of environmental devastation. For instance, Chronos, time of sand aspires to combat climate anxiety by depicting the skills and DIY technologies that are available today, from creating textiles from plants to a dew collecting tower that captures moisture from the clouds.
