Synopsis

Walter Benjamin’s essay “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction,” though a very short essay, continues to attract the attention of many scholars. But also college students/amateur video makers like me are not immune to the fascination of such a prophetic work! This video essay is simply meant to offer an impression of some of the passionate themes covered in this work, such as the relationship between aesthetic experience and photography. More than anything else, it wants to show a student’s fantasies with respect to a masterpiece of contemporary philosophy!
