Synopsis

M² is part tribute to the life of the filmmaker’s late father Michael Matthews and part ode to 2001 A Space Odyssey. The documentary was made over the summer of 2021 in Devon England shortly after Michael’s death from Covid 19. The film was produced to capture one final foraging odyssey given his father’s interest in gathering wild food during his life. Much of the film was shot Michael’s camera with some stock 8mm footage scanned from the family archive as well.
