A man with a fractured foot is brought to an apartment by a woman who then leaves him there to recover.

He soon becomes intrigued by the striking presence of a man across the street who leaves his house everyday at exactly the same time. Always whistling the exact same melody, always disappearing behind the same street corner.

On what appears to be some kind of obscure home shopping channel the recovering man sees a woman advertising a telescope. He then discovers that very object in the apartment and uses it to observe the whistling man.

He finally decides to leave the apartment to pursue the whistling neighbor.. When the pursuit ends, a confrontation follows.
