Fabiana is a girl who suffers from coulrophobia; she has an inordinate fear of clowns. Because of this anxiety she is being treated by a psychologist, Dr. Lanzetta. One evening, after ordering a pizza, she receives a visit from a delivery man dressed as a clown for her daughter's surprise party. Such a vision triggers a sense of anguish in her, and before her disbelieving gaze, the deliveryman takes on the guise of IT, the clown who par excellence terrorizes the imaginations of children around the world. When she opens her eyes again, Fabiana finds herself catapulted into a nightmare. She is chased by the clown first across a plain in front of a crumbling church, then through a deserted arcade with all the booths turned on, and finally into a forest. At the end of the chase, the girl slips into a pit with a sign next to it bearing her name. Suddenly Fabiana reopens her eyes and finds herself on her bed in a bath of sweat: everything seems to have been a bad nightmare. Next to the bed, in fact, stands a copy of IT by Stephen King, a gift from her boyfriend, given to her precisely to try to overcome her atavistic fear of clowns. Heartened, Fabiana prepares to go to work. Once out of the house, after going up a couple of ramps, the girl suddenly stops with blood coming out of her nose. Suddenly she sees a red balloon going up the stairwells.
