During the Festa Junina of a community project in the countryside of São Paulo — a traditional Brazilian rural festival with music, food stalls, and folk dances — Ana Lú (15) decides she will finally confess her feelings to her crush, Laura (15). When Laura’s partner for the quadrilha — a paired folk dance performed at Festa Junina, staged like a playful rural wedding — drops out at the last minute, a perfect and terrifying opportunity appears. To dance beside the girl she loves, Ana Lú must face her own shyness, the fear of rejection, and the watchful eyes of her peers. Amid rehearsals, fluttering flags, and the mock wedding at the heart of the quadrilha, she finds in the dance a chance to be seen by Laura — and perhaps have her feelings returned.
