What follows is a slow-motion battle of professionalism vs. psychological survival vs. air quality, as Poyd deploys every weapon in his retail arsenal (flattery, fifty-percent-off, a strategically-deployed inhaler) against an opponent utterly immune to subtext, urgency, or an entire can of air freshener emptied at point-blank range.
