Drama Coming of Age Romance Short, Student

Synopsis

Two girls, who have known each other since childhood, spend the last day of summer together, before one of them moves from the countryside to the city. It turns out there are hidden feelings blossoming in one of the girls. The blond girl is ready to move away and begin a new phase of her life, whereas the darkhaired wish for things to remain the same and is more hesitant to throw herself into adult life. The blond girl is full of energy, wild, free and doesn’t think deeply about things, in contrast to the more withdrawn darkhaired girl, who is more calm and nostalgic.
Throughout the film, the brownhaired girl tries to catch up to the blond, but in the moment, where she tries to be the one, who for once doesn’t hesitate, she misreads the situation. The ending is ambiguous, can their friendship stay the same or is it changed forever?
'For Life' is a short film about growing up and figuring out who you are. But also about friendship and how that bond can be tested when the two parts view the friendship differently. It also shows a shared experience amongst LGBTQIA+ individuals, namely what can be at stake, if you express your true feelings.
Based on my own life and experiences, the summer before high school.
