Synopsis
Mirage is a surreal anthology of four interconnected stories set against the backdrop of contemporary Bengal, India. Through four different lives, the film explores the aspirations, loneliness, relationships, compromises and invisible struggles of people living in a rapidly changing society.
Set in today’s Bengal—where tradition constantly collides with modernity—the stories move through different social realities and generations. Each character is searching for something: love, recognition, security, freedom, identity or simply a reason to keep going. Yet, beneath their seemingly ordinary lives lies a deeper question—how much of what we desire is real, and how much is merely an illusion?
As the four narratives unfold and subtly intersect, Mirage becomes a reflection of a society caught between its past and its uncertain future. Technology has brought people closer, yet emotional isolation has grown deeper; dreams have become bigger, while human connections have become increasingly fragile.
Blending realism with a surreal undertone, Mirage portrays contemporary Bengal through intimate human stories and examines the illusions we create, chase and sometimes mistake for reality.
At its heart, Mirage is a film about people searching for meaning in a world where reality itself can feel like an illusion.
