Life on Iğdır’s Sinek Plateau—situated at an altitude of 2,232 meters—is shaped by the harsh conditions of nature. In these high mountains, where the rugged terrain renders the use of machinery impossible, agricultural laborers sustain a centuries-old tradition by relying on ancient methods to make a living.
For the people here, the scythe is far more than a mere tool for mowing grass; it represents labor that demands immense, exhausting physical exertion. The scythe becomes an extension of the body—like an arm or a leg—serving as a steadfast companion in the struggle against nature. This documentary reveals the relentless physical effort of laborers swinging their scythes at sickle altitudes, while highlighting the unbreakable bond between the human body and the tool, as well as the ancient kinship forged in the face of the landscape's unforgiving conditions.
