Valmiera is a town in Latvia. Valmiera’s Boss’ favourite car has been stolen, and his cousin, who has been in charge of guarding it – shot. The toughest member of the Valmiera gang – Mārtiņš – has been ordered to deal with this mission in the rival town of Liepāja. Little does he know, that the initiator of this mess is right there within their own gang.

In kindergarten, children draw pictures. The teacher takes their drawings in turn and asks how the cockerel screams, the tiger roars… The children respond readily. In another drawing, the teacher shyly stops talking, asking the question: "How does the crocodile scream?" Those that persist in their desire to have a normal, physiological birth are sometimes forced by judges to surrender to surgery or threatened with having their babies taken away by child welfare services. In many countries, if a woman wants to have a home birth supported by a midwife, those midwives face criminal prosecution. Some midwives, like Ágnes Geréb in Hungary, are even imprisoned. FREEDOM FOR BIRTH calls for radical reform to the world’s maternity systems so that these Human Rights violations stop and women are afforded real choice as to how and where they give birth.

"Fathers and Sons" is a short documentary project of Kaan Müjdeci that was shot in 2012 during the research for director's first feature film entitled SIVAS. Fathers and Sons tells the story of kangal dogs and their owners. Kangal is a breed of shepherd’s dog, unique to the land of Anatolia. The owners fight their kangals and make money off them from bettings. However, they treat and take care of their dogs like their sons, sometimes even better. Even though their sons may get hurt, a father still takes pride in having sent his son to the military, doesn’t he? Fathers and Sons is about the duality of this father-son relationship. But after all, every father would like to be proud of his son.

This is the absurd story of two large and noisy families gathering in a house a day before a wedding around a refrigerator.

The film starts with the confluence of the 15M protesters in Puerta del Sol, follow the construction of the Camping Sol, a kind of parallel city assemblies, whose structure extends to neighborhoods and nearby cities and all over Spain. After what happened attest, without mediation or intention, the film lets the images speak and describe the end of the experience.

5 Meters 80 really is an absurd movie. Yet, no matter how ridiculous, Nicolas Deveaux managed to make it look so realistic that it’s as if giraffes jumping off the high dive are the most natural thing in the world. And that’s what makes it amazing.
