A soap opera created for the 48 Hour Film Project. It has many of the elements consistent with soap operas. That is family arguments, secrets, affairs and a drop of murder and it is not taken too seriously.

In this experimental short film, a brother and sister set out to find their younger brother to warn him about a serious health condition in the family. What follows is a tragicomic journey in which they encounter a series of unusual characters and, through flashbacks, witness the extraordinary life story of Chubby Einstein. The story and voice-over texts were written by myself, while the images were generated using AI (prompted by me). The goal was never to create perfect visuals, but rather to embrace imperfections and glitches—allowing a strange and distinctive visual language to emerge, amplifying the film’s surreal atmosphere. There is much to critique about AI—its potential to dull creativity or mislead with images—but I find it fascinating that, precisely because of its mistakes and glitches, it can open up unexpected worlds and enrich our stories. Not as a replacement for human creativity, but as a tool to collaborate with. Keywords: coming of age, bullying, mental health, dark humor, gender questions, absurdism. Please make sure to watch until the end credits.(they contribute to the story:-) The film can stand on its own very well, but for those who want more, after its completion, a transmedia project emerged that intertwines fiction. reality, and both digital and physical worlds. There is a website that not only shares information but also weaves extra stories and visual narratives into the world of the project. In the online shop, one can purchase unique and rare physical collectible items from the universe of Chubby Einstein, such as photographs taken by the protagonist from space of the Earth, stardust given to him as a farewell gift by the space dog Laika and five toothpicks used by the chicken farmer. The website blends absurdism and satire with a serious approach to various social issues, philosophical questions, and moral dilemmas, such as gender equality, bullying, complex family dynamics, and questions like to what extent we can/should separate an artist (x/v/m) from their work when they misbehave? All images were generated with AI (Adobe Firefly and VEO3), as were the voice-over performances (TTSmaker). The story and all voice-over texts were written by Marten Winters (without the use of AI). How do we adjust our spirits to accept what passes for real in a post-literate culture?

In a world often populated by clichés, stereotypes, and misunderstandings, “Men Who Hate Drags” is a story told by the voices of those who live a little-known and, for many, idealized reality every day. Through testimonials, gags, and real-life metamorphoses, the young people of “The Shade” guide and accompany the viewer from the organization to the staging of the end-of-season show. The story begins in the living room of “The Shade”, a queer space created with the intention of combining debate and entertainment, with the common goal of offering a safe environment for those who frequent it. In this setting, we meet the protagonists, initially busy organizing costumes, props, and scripts. Next, we follow the preparations in the hours leading up to the performance, witnessing the makeup and hair styling of each drag queen, until we arrive at the show and the conclusion of what we have seen previously. We soon realize that each stage of the show's production is, in fact, a simple tool that allows the viewer to immerse themselves more and more not only in the show itself, but, above all, in the stories of the people who create it. This allows the viewer to gain a new perspective on a little-known reality.

Through vivid storytelling, Eitai underscores the importance of indigenous knowledge and communitarianism in addressing pressing global crises. It calls for stronger relationships among people, the land, and non-humans to mitigate further environmental degradation. The film also captures unique narratives on combating HIV and GBV, as told by participants through their lived experiences and cultural expressions. The film is not only a celebration of the resilience and resourcefulness of communities in Teso, but also a platform for international knowledge exchange to address global challenges.
