The film restages a photograph of the ‘bearded lady’ Annie Jones (1865 – 1902). She lived in the USA and was one of the most famous bearded ladies of her time. She toured throughout the USA and all over Europe, first with the Barnum Circus and then later with her own show. The photograph of Annie Jones crosses through two contexts of difference. It travelled from the freak show in the Barnum Circus, where she was presented as a ‘wonder’ or a ‚freak‘ (for a fee), to the medical theater, where she was shown in Hirschfeld’s book as a potential ‘patient.’

The Morning Ritual

"The Morning Ritual" mixes fiction with the reality of India's largest metropolis - Mumbai. Iqbal Sheikh, 7 plays himself - Iqbal. A new law will not allow Iqbal to perform his morning ritual where he usually does because of the plush condos that have been erected by the sea. His quest to do his morning ritual takes him to the city's new public toilets, to a brush with the dangerous toilet mafia and to a place he has never been before - the other Mumbai.

Happy Land

A "road movie" to the past: two buses, two journeys, two final destinations, two opposing ideologies. The first bus carrying "the victors" on their way to commemorate and celebrate Tito's birthday at his birthplace, the second transporting the elderly and "defeated", as well as some young idealists, to the place of the World War II massacre at Bleiburg. But to the filmmaker Goran Devic, an outsider and observer, it was much more than that: "I was struck by the dramatic and emotional "sameness" of what was going on around me."

The Grand Inquisitor

Their cross-generational confrontation, played out in real time, leads to an unexpected and shocking conclusion.

It begins by looking back at the major changes from 1918 to 1933 that created the political climate for the birth and rise of the Nazi Party in Germany. It explores the basis for the party’s support among ordinary Germans and the military, government, and business establishment before and after Hitler was appointed chancellor in January 1933.
