The young men of Afghanistan have discovered the art of bodybuilding. In a country ravished by war, these men still hold on to their dreams; dreams of muscle, honour and fame - absolute control of the body in a world of chaos.

Experimental short documentary

The lives of three friends living within the largely unexplored Soweto gay sub-culture. There's Somizi - choreographer and entertainer; DK - a businessman who owns a funeral parlour; and Chix - a body builder. They've defied societal expectations to live their lives as they see fit. It is a revealing personal portrait by director Fanney Tsimong of three people intersecting with changing sexual values and a community struggling with the reality of homosexuality in its midst.

In March 2006, the team for the Navegar Amazônia project left the Jandiá Channel in Macapá, bound for Belém. On board a regional boat, adapted with a modern multimedia laboratory, were the project team and thirty persons, including musicians and filmmakers. The objective was, along the way, to offer workshops in music, cinema, photography, video and art to the population visited on the river's edge. The documentary is a record of the interaction between the guests and the local population. The Navegar Amazônia project captures and conveys contents of the Amazon in a unique way: from the heart of the forest and from the river to the world.

A recording of a meeting in the studio where Jeffrey Schier and Woody show colleagues and teachers a new tool. Between 1976 and 1980, Woody and Schier designed a prototype device, the Vasulka Imaging System, or Digital Image Articulator. It was one of the first digital audiovisual tools to generate image algorithms and convert them to an analog signal. In the 1970s and 1980s, the Department of Media Study at the State University of New York at Buffalo became one of these places of, teaching and mediating, in the area of Media Art, developing into what was perhaps to the most influential school for media in the twentieth century. Teaching there under the leadership of the founder Gerald O’Grady were the (meanwhile canonized) structuralist, avantgarde filmmakers Hollis Frampton, Tony Conrad, and Paul Sharits, documentary filmmaker James Blue, video artists Steina and Woody Vasulka, and Peter Weibel.

A modest story about two young people, Manuel and Octavio, who build up an intimate bond thanks to their shared past; deserted by their motherss, they regard the ‘adult’ world as hostile, unsafe and inaccessible.
