A disturbing docu-drama re-telling the story of the horrific case of Beverley Allitt, a children's nurse, accused in 1991 of killing four children in her care and harming nine others over a short period of just 59 days. The judge gave her a sentence of 30 years imprisonment, one of the longest sentences given to a woman in this country - exceeded only by those of Rosemary West and Myra Hindley. In the role of Allitt herself, giving an excellently controlled performance, is former "EastEnders" actress Charlie Brooks.

While reading his favorite Mickey Spillane book, he falls asleep and dreams of a helpless girl in dire need of a hero. In his dream, he becomes the mighty John Baretta who looks danger in the eye and laughs. When he wakes, he finds a note in his book that says, "Remember me. They're gonna die. See me. Help me." Johnny sets out on a quest to find the dire maiden in his dream and save her from a criminal's grip. The story juxtaposes Johnny's actual blunder of an adventure with what he envisions in his mind to be this great caper that will prove he can be the stoic hero of the books he reads. Let's just hope Johnny can live up to the hype of his own mental status.

We follow Piling, a young soccer fanatic, through a slum district of Manila. No ball or cleats, but a Coke can and flip-flops are the ingredients for a virtuoso demonstration of the football art. Only at the end does it become apparent why the little ball juggler will never be a Ronaldinho.

The constant movement of the wheels, threads, sprockets, feet and hands suggests restlessness, and this is paralleled by the soundtrack. The unknown woman could be Gretchen from Faust, hopelessly in love or Ariadne who gave Theseus the thread to find his way out of labyrinth or perhaps she is one of the fates, weaving destiny… Enlarged from Super-8 to 35mm, the film is very grainy, in itself an homage to the medium of film which is also emphasized by the depiction of all kinds of turning machines, both in image and sound.

This World investigates the potential links between "death metal" and a series of gruesome crimes around the world. In Italy a group of young death metal fans formed a satanic cult called the Beasts of Satan. At least four gruesome killings resulted. But death metal musicians deny that they have any responsibility for the actions of people who profess to be their fans. With exclusive access to the families, one of the killers and graphic police footage, the film tells the inside story for the first time. We hear from the musicians, the children and the parents from Oslo to California and ask just how far can music go in its ability to shock, and just how damaging might it be?
