Alive Alive O – A Requiem for Dublin chronicles the heroes and the ever-changing heart of Dublin over a seven-year period. During this time, Merry Doyle’s lens captures the colourful characters of the city by focusing on Dublin street traders and their daily hustle and bustle. This invaluable record of vanished communities also depicts a city fighting to retain its soul in the midst of boom-time redevelopment. A young U2 play a benefit concert on Sheriff Street, maverick politician Tony Gregory fights the closure of Moore Street market and Dubliners (many of whom have since passed away) recall memories of a different city.

Shadowman

Animator and filmmaker Jon Coley’s eighth film completes the ‘Other Realms’ series intended for television screening. Coley enlists the help of friend and professional model Janine Ashton who takes the lead role alongside Coley’s predatory stop-motion ‘Shadowman’ figure, inspired by the Count Orlok character in the 1922 silent horror movie Nosferatu. The live action was shot in 1994 on location at Harleston's Masonic Rooms (The Old Mineral Works), produced as part of another film, which sadly had to be abandoned due to financial limitations. Almost ten years later, in 2001, Coley created the animated figure and reworked his footage, also adding a soundtrack to create this episode.

Maria Klonaris´ improvised performance is a negative dance which lies between pleasure and catastrophe, a black and blue body language which grapples with the white of the screen and the luminous suddenness of a firework display.

Despite being shadowed by the papparazi and some negative islanders, nothing can stop our women from fighting for their right to party.

As the self-appointed curator of an unofficial museum of the nuclear age called "The Black Hole," Atomic Ed reveals and preserves a history of government waste that was literally thrown in a trash heap.

Thank You, Padre Pio!

Gigione goes on tour and Jo Donatello, who would like to go with his father, is forced to stay at home. Walking through the city he meets a friend with two young girls, one of whom obviously has to go to Donatello, who enchants her with the most boring and rhetorical saccharine love song. However, the girl is worried about "all those people who fight for freedom", so Donatello offers to be a driver in a series of clandestine races that we do not have the pleasure of seeing. Overseeing the entire operation is Don Franco, a sinister man with a Camorra streak who takes the young lover under his wing. Returning from the triumphant series of concerts Gigione discovers that Donatello is involved in a bad circle, and after an inconclusive confrontation with Don Franco, he thinks it would be a good idea to go on a pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo to ask for mercy from Padre Pio.
