It is as if they are wandering around the world which has come to an end, but the two get to know each other as slowly as Nakamura's car is going. They come to meet a middle aged lady, Shizuko, who is running away with a large sum of money, and an ex-cop, Goh, who repeatedly attempts suicide, and they spend a night together - Homesick is a road movie set in late autumn in Hokkaido, and it illustrates people's homesickness with black humour.
