Fordlandia is a small settlement on the River Tapajos in the Brazilian part of the Amazon, where Henry Ford set up a rubber industry in the 1920s. Mainly due to the resistance of nature, the project failed and was abandoned some 20 years later. Fordlandia is a voyage of (de)colonisation whereby the drifts and detours of modernity in uncertain places are highlighted, turning away from whatever their historical imaginaries were. The tensions between industrial and natural landscape are levelled off in a certain horizontality of hierarchies between form and content, and at the same time the animal resignifies possibilities of the community of the living.

Simon is a young tenor promised to a beautiful professional career when in 25 years, a skid in a swimming pool makes him tetraplegic. In spite of this terrible accident, Simon wants to sing again.

This film shows the sightless world of Hassibullah, his every day endurances and his sonic interpretations of space, day, time, seasons and the physical motion of everyday touchable world. It is about this extraordinary boy who lives in the company of myriad sounds and its scrapes every minute.

During a stay in the Death Valley desert in California, Karl Lemieux encounters a demolished house wall, standing alone in a void and whose windows are only open gaps, washed out by light. Fascinated by the incongruity and poetry of the object, he films it. This segment of film, later, he (...) will re-film it in a variety of positions and situations; off-center, oblique, fixed, in motion, and above all hot under the effect of heat. This work will yield the film Halo Getters. The act of burning the film, like under the magnifying glass, doubles the effect and the memory of the light and the intense heat of the desert, the place of origin of the image. An orange circle dotted with bubbles forms in the image, resembling a "sun" which adds to and destroys the image. This circle burning the film in Halo Getters, forms a blind spot which masks and destroys the image, making visible the fragility of the support.

The Jaleo is a summer festival on the island of Menorca (Spain) based on a parade of horses native to the island and exemplary docility, ridden by funny riders, dressed as clergymen or academicians wearing bicorns. The party lasts 24 hours without interruption. The most reckless among the public, often under the influence of alcohol, must raise the animal and move it forward on its two hind legs as long as possible. The musical motif is constantly repeated and becomes a haunting, obsessive tune. The images were captured with what I had on hand: a mobile phone that forced me to record very short sequences.
