2012 • 18 min

The image shows a tree in bloom near a stream, during an extraordinarily long warm streak in February, a dream of spring in the middle of winter outside Chicago. A false spring that doomed the exuberant tree's fruit.

The film takes shape when a portrait photographer leaves his subjects by themselves in the studio with the camera for a few minutes. A simple situation yet significant in what it has to say about the act of looking and image making. A city is its people.
