Through the eyes of the newsreel cameras and advertising of the time, we present an affectionate look at the way we were in the 1950's: the way we dressed, the way we laughed (and cried) - even the way we holidayed. In 1950, Britain was working hard to recover from the Second World War. Yet, as the decade went on and economic conditions improved - prompting PM Macmillan to tell people of Britain "You never had it so good" - a cascade of wonderful gadgets found there way into British homes and families began holidaying on the beaches and promenades.

A Backyard in Nowhere is an independent film that mixes Western and Gonzo elements with traditional fly fishing Blinded by stories of giant Northern pike, a trio of fly fishers set out to explore the remote Innoko River in Alaska. They end up getting a whole lot more than they bargained for After the fly fishers meet the Native Americans that live in the drainage, their adventure begins to take wild twists and turns Moving deeper into the Backyard, the fly fishers find some of the best pike on the fly fishing ever caught on film. But, to their misfortune, the Backyard turns out to be a lot like the old West Generous servings of booze, taking the law into one s own hands and gun slinging over a piece of land, are challenges that need to be overcome to find the giants of the Innoko.

The 1960s promised great things for Britain and the world. It was a period of optimism, idealism and limitless possibilities. Newsreels captured the development of a new kind of culture and lifestyle during the decade. Some of the optimism of the early 60s had faded by the end of the decade, but the period still saw remarkable progress in medicine, science, industry - as well as music, fashion and civil liberties.

Directed by Ingrid Martens, this documentary takes place completely within the lifts of Ponte tower in Johannesburg. Over five years, Ingrid films the tenants of the tower and the snippets of their lives that are captured within their rides between floors.

Alexander and Natalis Rosen follow closely in this documentary the ancient writings of Plato. That is how they found the Lost City of Atlantis.
