Together with around 15 other Iranians, they have been sheltered for months in a church in the heart of Brussels. After weeks of negotiations, the police turn up at the church to move the foreigners to detention centres. Their cases will be reviewed one last time, after which they might be repatriated to Iran. Driven to despair, Homayoun and Shayan make a final attempt by climbing to the top of a crane, defying a country where human rights should not be ignored.

Additionally, his mum Dorothy quickly finds an appropriate way of breaking the news to her close network of friends. For Jacob however, it's a different story.

In The Chocolate Nun, the artist Marie Sochor, masked, films herself head-on with her mobile phone, seated in front of a nun from whom she sticks her tongue out. As the pastry approaches, the character's tongue begins to swell disproportionately; devouring it is impossible. The work oscillates between trivial humor and studied nonchalance. The video responds to James Williamson's film The Big Swallow (1901) where a man undertakes to swallow the camera. It also refers to the erotic-burlesque videos of Paul McCarthy.

Île de Sein

These are super8 images filmed on Sein Island, later blown up to 16mm. Using an approach that could be considered ethnographic, David Dudouit commits to showing us the everyday life of the island and its inhabitants. As the days repeat, the filmmaker sometimes returns to the same places filmed the day before. As a result of the frame-by-frame shooting method, time becomes compressed, and the rhythm of the film pulls us into a kind of trance.

The Miranda Case

On the 50th anniversary of the Supreme Court "Miranda Decision" retired Phoenix Police Captain Carroll Cooley remembers that day and what it means to him. Ernesto Arturo Miranda (1941 - 1976) was a laborer whose conviction on kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery charges based on his confession under police interrogation was set aside in the landmark U.S. Supreme Court case Miranda v. Arizona, which ruled that criminal suspects must be informed of their right against self-incrimination and their right to consult with an attorney before being questioned by police. This warning is known as a Miranda warning.

They were not intended as merely entertaining freakshows but also scientific demonstrations of racial difference. Across the western world millions gawped in fascination at these "uncivilised savages" and would depart convinced of the superiority of the white race. Human Zoo: Science’s Dirty Secret explores the phenomenon of human zoos and tells the poignant story of Ota Benga, a Batwa pygmy from the Belgian Congo, who was first put on display at the 1904 St Louis World's Fair and then the Bronx Zoo where he was labelled as the 'missing link'.
