German Armour: The Panzer III

It was Heinz Guderian who in 1934, gave specifications for 2 frontline tanks to be manufactured. The first was intended to be the main battle tank of the Panzer divisions capable of destroying enemy tanks. It was called the Panzer 3. Crewed by 5 men, its weight varied at around 20 tons during the campaign in the west, and achieved a top speed of 25 mph. Its main armament was a 37 mm canon.

Nero´s Guests is a story about India’s agrarian crisis and the growing inequality seen through the work of the Rural Affairs Editor of Hindu newspaper, P Sainath. Through sustained coverage of the farm crisis, Sainath and his colleagues created the national agenda, compelling a government in denial to take notice and act. Through his writings and lectures, Sainath makes us confront the India we don’t want to see, and provokes us to think about who ‘Nero’s Guests’ are in today’s world.

"Made using lengths of black 35mm movie film [...] the film was attached to a board and shot with a shotgun. The resulting damage was then repaired and the separate lengths joined together in strict order. At its simplest it is a pun on the phrase "to shoot film". My idea was to portray the concept of shooting a film as a physical and literal action. The film can be seen as pure documentation of an act.
