Over the next year, the Waring family assembled an international team of experts to help defend their son, exposing deep flaws in the police investigation and the legal battle that followed. Alarmingly, experts say that the same situation could arise at any time, involving any family, in any Australian state.

In this film, Jean-Baptiste de Laubier squarely doubles this hypothesis of Chris Marker: the traces of the times are no longer contained in the brain of a survivor of the disaster but in computer memories. History having disappeared, carried away by the extinction of men, machines tell stories with the images that men have bequeathed to them. Like those of this narrator who could not, him or anyone, survive the final virus but who left on a hard drive images shot from the time he was still living. His travels, family, love. Life. This life and its memory that our computer heirs sing about make it look nostalgic, a human feeling that we did not know they were programmed to feel.

Repainting Cuba takes a critical look at communist Cuba, where both the facades and the aging regime were given a coating of colorful paint in connection with the 50 year anniversary of the revolution. Two young Cubans under house arrest talk about being imprisoned for dealing with foreign tourists in a society where gossip and backstabbing is endemic, and where the heavy varnish can’t conceal the cracks.

A sense of unease likewise permeates Linda Scobie's beautiful and mesmerizing Road Not Taken, a delicate slice of archival footage that the artist degraded, broke down and tinted. Amid a stream of men walking somewhere -- the Soviet Union? -- in the first half of the 20th Century (another guess), one scared, beaten-down figure stares at the camera, piercing our heart.

In stroboscopic noise~ two lines oscillate at different frequencies and at varying distances from each other in the picture field. As the speed increases the viewer´s eye is no longer able to perceive the movement, and afterimage effects begin to cover the individual images. This overstimulation of the eyes creates three-dimensional spaces and planes. Knapp´s aesthetics define a border of sight which replies to the logic of digital apparatuses with knowledge of the psychology of perception that developed in an analog visual world.
