Karø Goldt’s video tulipa, like the previous films in her abstract plant-film series, concentrates on the formal interplay of color and sound. For this, Goldt once again uses a digital flower picture as the starting point for her cinematic conversation. The picture is disaggregated into its color components and then transferred to an abstract stripe pattern. Thus, in tulipa, too, not much remains of the romantic genre of the flower picture other than the title and the electronically scanned color values of the original picture. Instead, the color dynamics of the picture are released from the flower motif and gain powerful intrinsic value through the consistent process of abstraction. The dynamic interplay of the color values and the spatial potential of the colors are thus revealed increasingly over the course of the color changes in the film.

Individual segments included in the documentary include a 'Silver Ring Thing' abstinence rally, a trans-gendered view on virginity, a sociological analysis based on the work of Dr.Laura Carpenter, the Broadway play 'My First Time', and a look at the history of virginity. Throughout the film are candid personal stories from individuals representing all backgrounds and experiences. The film also includes clips of vintage cinema to punctuate the evolution of this word from ancient Greece to the modern world.

Tina Frank’s Chronomops opens doors to truly different dimensions: different than digital art’s reductionist studies so common today, different than the serially laid out minimalist images, and different than the omnipresent filtering and layering experiments. Chronomops opens up a shimmering, colorful space that is simultaneously an excess of color, frenzy of perception, and pop carousel. An abstract architecture of vertical color bars is set in endless rotation, whereby the modules and building blocks fly around themselves—and the entire system likewise rotates. The forced movement forms a digital maelstrom whose suction pulls the observer deep into it.
