Loraine Barr was born in 1918 and kept her sexuality secret for 88 years. When she revealed the truth in Newsweek magazine in 2007 she set the blogs ablaze and challenged us to ask: Is she really brave, courageous and bold as admirers have told her in countless letters since the story appeared? Or is she a coward - as others have written - only coming out of the closet when nothing was truly at risk? This short film tells the story of Loraine Barr, following her as she prepares to join 1800 other women on an 'Olivia' lesbian-only cruise out of San Diego.

The Marching Season

The Riga march is a solemn political act, while in London some worry that the political origins of Pride have become lost.

The Secret Peacemaker

Brendan Duddy is an ordinary man from Derry who, for more than 20 years, was at the centre of extraordinary events that eventually led to the historic IRA ceasefire of 1994 and the Belfast Agreement. During that time his identity was kept a closely guarded secret by those with whom he dealt - representatives of the IRA's ruling army council and British intelligence officers from MI6 and MI5. Until now, he's only been referred to as "The Link" or "The Contact", the secret intermediary whose aim was to bring the two sides together to end the conflict.
