New Emissions of Light and Sound is a DVD collaboration between the sometimes-introverted world-renowned DJ Sasha and a bunch of Surfers that managed to snag themselves a nod for both Best Core Film and Best Editing from the 2007 X-Dance Film Festival; Movie of the Year, and a win for Best Cinematography from the 2006 Surfer Poll Awards for their previous film, Secret Machine.

This film was shot with a still camera with 16 lenses, which takes a series of 16 pictures within 1.5 seconds, fitting onto two normal frame areas. The film shows the sense of the event at Tokyo Racecourse, when it was holding the biggest race of the year, Japanese Derby (Tokyo Yushun). The excitement of each race lasts 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

This documentary follows the story of elderly Native American sisters Mary Dann and Carrie Dann as they fight the U.S. government's attempts to seize their horses, which graze on land granted to the Western Shoshone Nation in an 1863 treaty. Filmmakers Beth Gage and George Gage chronicle the spirit and fire of these grandmothers, who confront bureaucrats, gold mining companies and others as they push their case all the way to the Supreme Court.

Director Anneloek Sollart closely follows Tom and his mother. Since he was five years old, Tom has only eaten raw food. Uncooked, unheated food. His mother wants him to. She believes in the raw food diet, which she says is the healthiest lifestyle.

Burning Car is a film work by Superflex in which a car is being set on fire. The empty car starts to burn, the cabin is filled with smoke and fire, car-paint is bobbling, tires explodes. Towards the end the car is burned out completely.

An old woman is sitting with motionless and two eyes closed. Suddenly, a visitor shows up in the courtyard of the house while she is looking at the sunlight through a window. The turtle and a door open onto her memories and it makes her think of a memory about a rosary. The images of an unforgettable past remain in her mind with longing about her missing son.

Nimbus Independent is a new ski film company formed in the fall of 2007 by professional skier Eric Pollard. Eric shared a perspective on skiing and filmmaking with fellow pro skiers Pep Fujas, Andy Mahre and Chris Benchetler. Together, four of the world's most influential skiers decided to set out and make ski films that represent the sport as they see it. What is it about skiing? The Nimbus Independent crew tries to answer that question. This film showcases skiing that is more fun and enjoyable for everyone, more about fluidity and style than amplitude or quantity of rotations, it breaks from the norm of pro athletes hitting jump after jump with a couple contrived lifestyle segments, to producing a project that communicates what ski culture is and the community it creates through the eyes of Pep Fujas, Eric Pollard, Chris Benchetler, Ike Smith, Andy Mahre and their friends.

A film searching for life.

Nathan bumps into an old friend. The only complication is that he was supposed to be imaginary...

Some years ago a friend’s mother couldn’t remember my name and referred to me as Deliria. One afternoon, years later, the film That Hamilton Woman was broadcast on Channel 4 while the other analogue channels were showing the twin towers being hit – with the result that if you changed the channels (as you did) Vivien Leigh’s ethereal face was intercut with images of the disaster. Eventually the broadcast of the film was interrupted – with apologies. Presumably, due to popular demand, the film was shown in its entirety two or three weeks later. By taking a single scene from That Hamilton Woman and overlaying it three times, using delays and changes to density, the result is a musical and visual round exposing the over heightened emotions of Vivien Leigh as she at first whispers for her lover’s return and then runs to him across an ersatz palace and terrace with a barely visible Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius smouldering in the background.

Pro Agri is one in a series of films of buildings related to tobacco production in Umbria. It was shot over a two hour period from an hour before to an hour after sunset, at a rate of one frame every two seconds.

A moving, intimate portrait of an internationally renowned artist, Jock Soto of the New York City Ballet, who is Navajo Indian, Puerto Rican, and openly gay. On the verge of retirement, one of modern ballet's most gifted and celebrated dancers is forced to contemplate life after dance. Exploring identity, family, and transition, the film climaxes with his emotional departure from ballet at age 40 in 2005. As Soto reflects on his uncertain future, he also attempts to connect with his past, revisiting his Navajo roots and the cultural heritage to which he is at once detached and devoted. Soto's story defies stereotypes in the same way that his dancing transcends the expected.

Author on her work: Short film "UN-good" is produced within the project "Cinema poetry" in September 2008. It is a story about an imaginary phone call of a girl, but the imagination becomes real. Short film is based on the original text of a poem "UN-good" by poet Erika Berzina.
