In June 2001 Belgrade lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and trans people organized a Pride event in celebration of the new era of democracy and tolerance that was believed to have come to Serbia. About 40 people came to celebrate. Several thousand counter-demonstrators organized, showed up and brutally beat them. This crucial documentary serves as a reminder that LGBT existance is not safe and sound, and human rights should never be taken for granted.

At the hairdresser, in the “hotel” for dancers or at home, at weddings, nightclubs, on and backstage, the film follows them and tries to show the depth of a struggle under the make-up and the dance. A reality far from the cliché of belly dancing.

“Heat Shot 1,2 “ is a pair work and also independent pieces. Both are originally made by film but sometimes they have been shown through various projections such as video version with sound and two or triple projections with improvisational sound performance. Especially, “Heat Shot 2” was shown with triple projections composed of one loop projection of just stitch image and two versions of print image in this January, 38th Rotterdam film festival. It is a trial to expand film medium mixed with performance and improvisational sound.

Scientists are trying to discover what allows the octopus to survive in such a hostile environment.
