In Le Granier, the earth is living, is suffering and is full of history. The still camera shows a tired mountain which seems to hide a sacred secret. These telluric landscapes transfigured by Fouchard's manipulations on the image (animation techniques, toning, etc.) of a great plasticity, tell the history of this mountain populated with incantations, and its belonging to this wild nature.

Two men making love. The question of the embrace (which encompasses the caress, the look, the kiss, the penetration, the speed of movement, the expression of ecstasy…) give to the film a scenario of examples of editing (disconnection, links, rhythm, interlaced films, alternate editing…). A sometimes figurative logic (make love, to be loving, to enjoy), choreographic (to caress, to interlace, to kiss, to lick, to penetrate), and cinematographic ( to link, to bring together, to move, to embrace…:to mount)
Natural Family Values: A Community Divided

Natural Family Values: A Community Divided

2007 • 47 min
Kanab, Utah, a small, western town founded by Mormon polygamists, is now the scene of a city divided. The people are split between a religious majority, struggling to assert its conservative identity, and a vocal minority determined to make their home in a community afraid of change. Fearing a threat to their way of life, the mayor and city council unanimously approve a resolution. This defines the kind of families they would like to see move in as 'one man, one woman' with a 'full quiver' of children. Natural Family Values is an intimate portrait of a community at odds with itself, and what happens when democracy and theocracy clash.
