Everyone knows what ice cream is. That ice cream, even more than pizza and pasta, is associated with Italy and Italians is a fact. But how this icy delight is born and where it comes from is by no means clear. Ice cream hides a mysterious past. The film reveals the origins and investigates the myth of ice cream retracing its evolution, from the royal courts to the subsequent exit on the streets. A path that has led to its widespread diffusion in the world and has allowed different "interpretations" according to the different cultures. In this journey through time, the film shows how the invention of ice cream, its production and its distribution are closely linked to the social and economic transformations that have affected the last two centuries. Making ice cream is a bit of an art and a bit of a craft, but it sure is a way of life.

A film narrated by a prison interview with long-jailed black radical Ojore Lutalo. Ojore touches on many issues, from what prisons are, to why he is in prison to the nature of the black radical struggle. Ojore was released in 2009, only to be rearrested a few months later as the alleged "Amtrak Terrorist" in Colorado. All charges were dropped after no one was able to provide any evidence of wrongdoing.

A meditation on the inevitable deterioration of certain traditional values that have been established (or destroyed) throughout civilization. This elegiac account uses symbolic representation from natural elements in order to convey the inevitability of remembering the social and cultural erosion, and places a layer of texture in front of the elliptical glimpses of imagery, separating the viewer from the past. The re-occurring image of flames remains untouched by the erosion aspects of reticulation, ultimately alluding to nature's powerful quality.

British singer/songwriter James Blunt has stormed the music charts all over the world with his beautifully crafted album Back to Bedlam. The multi-platinum selling collection of melodic ballads, including the modern classic You're Beautiful has propelled Blunt to stardom in an incredibly short space of time. On 18th November 2005, James performed live for an intimate audience at the BBC in London and the result was this wonderfully atmospheric concert, featuring a full band plus an eight piece string section. Filmed in HD and airing on the BBC in December, the show features all the hits from Back to Bedlam, including High, You're Beautiful, and an acoustic version of Goodbye My Lover.

Unlike other great civilizations such as the Romans and the Ancient Egyptians, the Mayan empire did not arise from the banks of a mighty river. Much of the Mayan world is in fact devoid of even the smallest river or lake. Then why did they populate Yucatan? The Maya believed that the freshwater pools, ‘cenotes’, dotted across the area were sacred portals to the underworld. They are indeed portals, but rather to an incredible underground labyrinthine systems of rivers. Only now being properly explored and understood, this secret world was created by nature in a unique chain of dramatic events. Underneath the jungle-clad Mayan temples of Yucatan lies a world even more mysterious, even more incredible than the Maya could have ever imagined. A whole food chain has been found in the cenotes deepest recesses — over 20 species that have never seen the light of day. Some of the underground caverns are not totally full of water… incredibly, they are home to thousands of bats.

Elephants' Test is a test, an experiment performed to elephants. It is also a cinematic appropriation, a manipulated found footage, bleach faded and scratched. Two tests in one: the first one was carried out by a French expedition in the African jungle to discover the behavior of a herd of elephants, the second one was self-made from super 8 documentary material.

"Catching The Sea" is a 2005 short film by Woo Ming Jin about the lives of several people in a village after a mysterious disease strikes and kills their loved ones. Set in a dilapidating fishing island, the film is about reconciling death and moving on with life. A prequel/spin-off for Woo Ming Jin's subsequent feature "The Elephant and The Sea."
