The Magic Lion is a short animated film about an African boy who goes on a quest to save the life of his gravely ill grandfather. He is in search of a mysterious village where there are healers who can make a special medicine. On the way he encounters a strange lion, caught in a trap, a lion that takes him on an adventure.

One of railroading's most spectacular runs took place over the weekend of November 30, 1957 when Southern Pacific Cab Forward 4274 left Sacramento for its final journey across Donner Pass. This historic event was captured on film by Albert C. Phelps, with special photography by J. Allen Hawkins and Jacob DeVries. You'll ride in the cab of the AC-powered 10-car train as it climbs the steep grade. Special scenes include 4274's shake-down run in Roseville as it prepares for its final run, rare pacing shots of the train as it races up the Sierra Nevada foothills, and photo run-bys staged for the passengers at remote locations. This is a rare treat for all steam fans to enjoy!

Appropriating a dated exercise video hosted by actress Angela Lansbury, Feeling Free presents a woman, played by Moulton, who attempts to follow the televised workout in her living room even as elements of her home décor begin to appear onscreen. Deriving its title from an inspirational segment of Lansbury's program, Feeling Free subjects the appropriated footage to eccentric visual and audio displacements, culminating in a psychedelic dance sequence set to a remix of the program's insipid theme song. The piece was first shown in the context of Moulton's multimedia performance Decorations of the Mind.

A man of many contradictions, he was known as 'The Quiet One', although Monty Python's Eric Idle once remarked, George never stopped talking. The melancholy one who had a great sense of humour, the simple spiritual man who had a passion for motor racing and enjoyed his immense wealth. This programme explores his complex nature and his life journey with interviews with those that were the closest to him, and using rare film footage we examine his undoubted musical talent, his time with The Beatles and his long held spiritual beliefs that were a comfort to him until his untimely death at just 58 years old in November 2001.

Cecilia Cornejo presents a haunting personal response to the events of September 11, 2001, informed and complicated by her status as a Chilean citizen living in the U.S. With evocative imagery from both past and present, Cornejo weaves together her own fading childhood memories, her parents vivid recollections of the September 11, 1973 coup in Chile that brought the notorious dictator Augusto Pinochet to power; and post-9/11 conversations with her own young daughter.

This documentary was produced on the occasion of the Museum of London's Jack Chambers Film Project. It includes excerpts from Chambers' five key films and documentation of panel presentations from Stan Brakhage, Nancy Poole, James Reaney, Ross Woodman, among others given at the 2001 Chambers Symposium.

Dumaresq insists she doesn't race to make a stand, but doesn't shy from being a trailblazer. She grew up in turmoil over her identity and struggled to come to terms with herself as an adult, even with her parents' whole-hearted support. She takes on the mantle of role model because she understands how isolated others like her feel.

The Reality of My Surroundings – Past to Present is a career retrospective (1979-1991) of the alternative rock band Fishbone. The video includes live shots and commentary from the band, as well as all of the band's promotional videos from MTV. It was released shortly after the band's successful The Reality of My Surroundings album in 1991. In this retrospective spanning, Fishbone delivers mind blowing p[performances & videos that would make them a major influence on later bands such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers and No Doubt. Highlights from the collection include "Party at Ground Zero," "Modern Industry," and the blistering video "Sunless Saturday." Directed by Spike Lee.

Loosely inspired by the story of the black American explorer, Matthew Henson (1866-1955) who accompanied Robert Peary and was one of the first people to reach the North Pole, later writing an account of his experience. In this fragmented narrative, Julien contemplates on ideas and histories of the hierarchical as well as in the struggling figure we find a succinct metaphor of endless traversing, symbolizing the voyage of the modern that has to be experienced by others.

This was supposed to be a trial film for the artist to test her defective camera. In Allegory, Friedl vom Gröller stands in the foreground of the scene, anxiously looking into the camera. A circle of women behind her gradually lends the film movement, as their initial earnestness gives way and they traverse the film frame, cheerfully talking. Allegory contrasts Gröller´s melancholy with the cheerfulness of her students. (Christa Benzer)

Linda Martinez stars in this latest atrocity from studio 8 in the San Francisco Art Institute and her co-stars don’t find her too hot to handle! She plays a travel agent booking honeymoon holidays to a sex-infested island haunted by lascivious cadavers and voodoo hi-jinks. Lots of color and rubberized hot action!

A tour of an old barn narrated by the farmer, Arnold Cole, who has known it for over 50 years. Redundant barn spaces and features serve to prompt the story of changes in farming practice. From milking by hand through the coming of electricity to developments in baling and feeding methods, the transformation from farming as a way of life to farming as agribusiness is charted.

The origin of the word riff is unknown. In music it is used to represent a repeated phrase. It has been suggested that a riff is a refrain : …recognition places one in many, many in one place, removed and removed again, categorically policed… In front of our eyes they are clearing the streets for the record. Voices become refrains that defy political violence.
