This video is compiled from several appropriated clips from VCD's(Video Compact Discs) that are sold in Baghdad.Iraqi-American filmmaker Usama Alshaibi...makes some striking juxtapositions with his work "Bombshell: Iraqi Secret Videos and Artifacts from a Fallen Regime," which split-screens a smiling Saddam Hussein birthday party and underground torture videos as well as images of Donald Rumsfeld shaking hands with Hussein in 1983. "'Bombshell' is saying many things at once," explains Alshaibi, who lived in Iraq as a child and just recently visited his homeland. "I'm just showing the history of Iraq: the U.S. intervention, but also keep in mind that Saddam was the United States' main guy, we helped him produce chemical weapons, so it's the schizophrenia of war and Iraq as a symbol of many things."

Taipei-durÉe

JACK, PAK, and KI (Camera) spend two days and one night together in a building owned by JACK's father on the second floor in Taipei, to commemorate the Chinese New Year. The resulting film is a personal record of everyday life inspired by Jonas Mekas' diary films. The selection of sound was made first, followed by the corresponding image, resulting in the presentation of independent sounds and images rather than sound supporting the images.

I Like Okinawa Sweet

Leaning over a fence surrounding a U.S. military base, a woman is happily eating ice cream someone gave her. Those who know the status quo of Okinawa will realise that the ice cream symbolises both a promotion policy in compensation for the accepted bases and an image of tourism unilaterally imposed. The filmmaker herself plays the role of the woman who plays the role of (the people in) Okinawa itself (themselves) relying on such realities. Through simulationism, the film embodies the present tense of the local culture’s disappearance, transformation into tourist attractions and rapid homogenisation.

Bride Training

Tomomi (Ayano Natsuki) and Tatsuo (Kouji Hiraoka) go to a secluded villa to shoot a commemorative bridal video. ... They do as they are told by the video crew and act out their journey to marriage. The filming seems to go smoothly, but suddenly the crew enters the bedroom of Tomomi and the others, who are embarrassed by their lust, and forcibly capture their lasciviousness on camera. Tomomi and Tatsuo are perplexed... but when they realise that it is a trap set by the crew, the video begins to spin, a fate from which they can no longer escape...

The Bronx: Live At The Annandale

Live At The Annandale is The Bronx's first available DVD, it showcases a full concert that was held at the Annandale Hotel in Sydney, Australia and released not long after the concert. The DVD is unique in that it was shot by an employee of the hotel with his own mini DV camera. The DVD features the entire show shot by one camera without any edits. A Memory Lasts Forever

This new media installation by Vancouver artist Althea Thauberger is a collaboration with the performers Jessica Griffiths, Gemma Isaac, Kaoru Matsushita and Natalie Needham. Each girl has developed her own characters, costumes, script and songs in response to a story about confronting death through improvisation and singing. Shot in a North Vancouver backyard around a pool with lush landscaping, the film is cinematically lit and shot as a stage production played out in real time.
