After 5-years' observation and recording, the director screened the entire process of villager autonomy of Dongpo Village in the suburb of Chengdu under the background of urbanization and the promulgation of organic law of villager committee. The film focuses on the villagers’ growing participation in political life and the running of their village.

On the occassion of 25 years of the environmental movement, Chipko, the film revisits the Kumaon-Garhwal region in the northern Himalaya. It emphasises the active role of women in this grass-roots movement, which has been one of the major factors for its success.

This film documents a school reunion held at the centenary celebration of the founding of Dr. Graham's Homes, a school in northern Indian town of Kalimpong, near the border with Bhutan and Sikkim. John Anderson Graham, a Scots missionary who traveled to India in 1889, founded his boarding school for "destitute and abandoned Anglo-Indian children" in 1900. Graham was appalled by the condition in which he found children in the tea-growing regions of northern India, in particular the children who were offspring of the women who labored on the tea plantations and (male) British tea-planters who were not allowed to marry until they became managers. Later the school also began to take in disadvantaged children of other backgrounds, among then Lushai, Nepali, Naga, Assamese, and Tibetan children. The film maker and several others interviewed in the film are children of Tibetan refugees.

For centuries the Bhotias traded with Tibet. They brought much needed salt, borax, yak’s tails and woolen cloth and bartered it with Indian grains, jaggery and other goods. The trade routes cut through the western and eastern passes of the Himalayas. The Shaukas of Johar Valley of Uttaranchal were one such group of Bhotia traders.

This video tells the inspiring story of thirteen women who in 1978 did what no American had done before. They climbed Annapurna I, one of the world’s highest and most dangerous mountains. Filmmakers Marie Ashton & Dyanna Taylor joined the expedition to capture on film the drama of this historic adventure. Their compelling footage follows the expedition from the lowlands of Nepal, across glaciers and steep ice slopes, to the triumph of the summit and the tragic loss of two team members.

FIRST AND LAST attempts to reveal the details of their lives while helping us better understand World War I.

'Humaniora is about that least popular kind of enforced rest: treatment and convalescence. It's a vision of hospitals, not as sites of trauma, but as a kind of pregnant pause in the headlong rush. Sunlight reflects off a tower, a pigeon roosts on a rooftop, and that precise moment of transition from night to day is captured when an illuminated sign suddenly switches off. Airy, Victorian glasshouses contrast with shadowy concrete alleyways as Nashashibi portrays different attitudes to sickness in different eras.' Rosalind Nashashibi's films span many boundaries, from Nazareth in Israel to the America Mid West. She has said of her work: 'The films observe what I suppose people would call 'real life', but I think they're about vacation away from life, about inactivity or rest, whether it be chosen or forced. The story of Tom Palazzolo's efforts to get his photographs included in the City 2000 exhibition, a show featuring images of Chicago from throughout that year. Palazzolo shoots events during the year 2000, such as Taste of Chicago, Maxwell Street, an AIDS bicycle ride, and other public festivals. Througout the tape we see his new photographs and some of his older ones.
