In 1936, hearing the Passionaria's call : "Spaniards from all countries, come and defend your homeland!", he joined the republican army. In 1941, he took part to the miners' strike against the occupation forces - he was then arrested on September 13 (after being denounced) for his activities in the Resistance and was imprisoned in Valenciennnes to be later sent to Mauthausen concentration camp. Through this portrait, we are given the opportunity to give back to history its human dimension ; it shows that such notions as resistance or solidarity are not merely words but that they are truly incarnated in men or women who could be our neighbours or our parents.

Robert Breer’s What Goes Up... continues his “kitchen sink” approach of including as many different kinds of things as possible. Central to his art are a series of tensions. Rather than using animation to produce seamless illusions, his films reveal cinema’s dual nature as both an illusion of movement and a succession of stills. The ultimate effect of his work is ecstatic: by combining various rhythmic patterns, abstract and photographed shapes, and flatness mixed with depth illusions, Breer energizes ordinary eyesight. The whole world can seem more alive, alive with rhythms and colors and shapes and textures as well, after seeing one of his films. But Breer’s films also often have a theme of failure, of failed movements and failed aspirations, and the title What Goes Up..., in referencing the idiom “What goes up must come down”, refers to his childhood dreams of flying (illustrated here as in many of his films with airplanes) as well as to the limpness that follows orgasm for males.

Music/Musical - African-born pop musician Angelique Kidjo's genre-hopping brew of funk, soul, salsa, jazz, and traditional African music has garnered her worldwide popularity. Using a combination of live action and colorful 3-D animation, this Christian children's series follows the high jinks of a spirited angel named Cherub Wings, who's been commissioned by God to present a variety show that will help kids build their faith. In this Easter-themed episode, a rousing space-chase in cherub chariots topples the little angel and his friend Chubby into an awesome awareness of God's mighty power.

Cameras are rolling all the time when MTV trains them on the band of seven strangers picked to live in a breathtaking mansion in Paris during the 2003 season of "The Real World." But given that each episode requires only 30 minutes of footage, there's much more that fans don't see.
