In this chapter of the No Ghost Just a Shell saga, Liam Gillick constructs a quiet but uncanny public installation—a space of benches, tables, and shelves—where the 3‑D animated Annlee speaks. She wears a black mourning gown as she addresses the history of her city, the construction of identity, and the tension between half-public, half-private spaces. Paired with ominous clicking sounds and halting breaths, the video evokes a vision of a fragile, haunted subject caught between memory and architecture.

A guided adventure for the eyeballs. And as such, also, of necessity, an adventure of the mind (how could it be otherwise ?). (...) I believe there is a current which runs at the core of all beings, call it life force, a dynamic which in individuals reflects both the personal and the universal. Up on the screen, frames in motion, a rushing stream of articulated energy to resonate with that inner biological current. Adventurous eyeballing then, in the ideal, an epiphanous moment of mutual recognition and commiseration between energy forms. "There is a vibration which exists to enrapture and console us." (Rilke). I like to think this vibration can be detected streaming out of The Cloud.

Examines Pulaski, Tennessee, the town where the Ku Klux Klan was founded right after the Civil War, and where today its memory still runs very deep. Combining interviews with local residents, attendees at a Klan rally and counter demonstrators; historical photos; contemporary footage; scenes of a museum exhibit of the last-known original Klan robe; and a cross burning ceremony by the Klan; the video reveals Pulaski's historical and ongoing relationship to this controversial organization. We learn how Pulaski's citizens remember and reconcile the history of the Klan, how they continue to be divided about the organization's meaning and role, and how such history remains contested for Americans.

Finland's toughest guys Make and Tope are back!

In a scene from “Robber South” (2001), which tells the story of a young man in the city making a living as a fruit seller while dreaming of becoming a businessman, the protagonist watches as a subway train pulls into a station, and in an instant the focus of his attention switches seamlessly to a deep blue sky. Compass in hand, he walks from house to house, tracing each door and wall with his fingers, a metaphor for his search for his own place in the city.

I recorded a single take on Video8. This resulted in the film Staber Mater, a tribute to Fra Angelico, the Italian Quattrocento painter. This tension of the single gesture excites me enormously and forces me to confront my responsibilities.

Mainstream Black music videos often present highly sexualized imagery of Black women. Against the backdrop of The New 2 Live Crew videos, the video streeter begs the question: What does "woman" mean to the average male music consumer, promoter, DJ and MC?

This video work is one of a group of pieces known as 'The Passions' which explores human emotions, inspired by early European devotional paintings. The five screens show different times of the day – morning, afternoon, sunset, evening and night. Each scene shows the female protagonist at a different task, from yoga exercises in the morning through to lighting candles in the evening and finally going to bed. In each scene, the tree outside the window is shown at different stages of its annual cycle, putting the woman's routine in the larger context of the cycles of nature. The work is based on a predella by the fourteenth century artist Andrea di Bartolo.

Lewis' The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Splash and his sister Coral have long-awaited the return of the great whale King, but when young Splash lets a secret slip, the evil squid Krakken sets a trap! Using state of the art computer animation, Kingdom Under the Sea is a drama of great beauty and a message of great depth that your family will want to watch over and over again!

“A Conversation with Fess Parker” (17:05) is another interview, edited almost exactly like the previous, where Maltin visits the man who played Davy Crockett at his winery in California. Memories of how he got the part, what it was like to make the series and the reaction from fans are all recalled by Parker. This is a low-key documentary, but a very nice inclusion for the set. Next we find A Conversation With Fess Parker. For this 17-minute and five-second piece, Maltin visits the actor at his vineyard and restaurant, and the two reminisce about the series. We learn factoids that relate to the production, Parker’s casting, his memories of the actors and Walt, and a mix of other elements in this decent little interview. In addition to the shots of Maltin and Parker, we see some behind the scenes footage as well as stills and clips from the series. Note that though the DVD’s case lists interview pieces with Buddy Ebsen, these don’t appear.

Part of "Pearl Harbor" Collector 4 Pack boxed set. Fifty years after Japan brought the U.S. into World War II, former adversaries met for the first time in friendship, at a retrospective symposium and air show re-enactment hosted by the Admiral Nimitz Museum. The men who has fought there reviewed the surprise attacks on Pearl Harbor in Hawaii and Clark Field in the Philippines, gathering in Texas to show respect and to reminisce about the heroics and fortunes of war. Mixing the aviation images of contemporary artists with interviews and historic footage, this is a unique fiftieth anniversary tribute to the brave patriots on both sides, who fought for their countries and ways of life.

Folk home rock and vadmals blues for full houses and standing ovations, and it makes Berit and Börje's hearts a little tight because they remember how it was once there in the late 50s.
