The film was shot over four years. A woman — from Hui'an, Fujian province — finds out that her husband has become infected with a venereal disease. She takes out her revenge on the local hotel and the barber shop (which are known as sites of secret prostitution in the city) by setting four explosives. Da Yi's film tries to understand why a kind, virtuous wife and mother turns to this extreme act.

Separate movements of 12-14 people are combined/cut to form a fictive man who repeats the words "I didn't force you" to a woman.

Seven Days ‘til Sunday, the first of three Jolley/Reynolds film collaborations, is a sequence of short episodes in which headless figures fall through the architecture of New York, incinerate in their own living room, detonate on wet ground. This strange depiction of anonymous, marginalised individuals meeting their end amid relentless urbanisation provides the imagery, but beyond the particularisation of their fates ‘the narrative stands for the tragi-comedy of life itself in a remote, indifferent universe.’

Dirty Babette Productions is a sporadic series of cabarets produced by lesbian writer/performer Christy Cameron. The emphasis is on dyke-core reading-rants and media art, transgender performance, pseudo-sex shows, and audience dress-up. The Manifesto is performed by Christy Cameron at “Dirty Babette’s Strange Attractor” (Toronto 1997).

A video which came out of a failed 16mm film project. Originally photographed in San Francisco, shooting only in locations where the cables transporting the cable cars could be heard, the ambiance of the cables would be the soundtrack. When the film failed; it was transferred to video, and then rephotographed with a video camera, the transfer playing in various levels slow motion and a contact mic on the screen to bring attention to the rhythms and allow the films colours to create timbre. Inspiration for the project was found in Eugène Atget and Charles Marville's photographic work, capturing a subtle otherworldly quality from the decay of a soon to be destroyed old Paris (pre Haussmann plan).

Washington Heights Untitled

Originally made for "Illicit Acts", a program curated by Stephen Kent Jusick for New York MIX Festival 1998, Washington Heights Untitled is a short experimental documentary on the local community where the artist is residing. Under the administration of New York City Mayor Guiliani, blockades were set up by the NYPD in many blocks to prevent drug trafficking. Capturing the essence of the Dominican neighborhood, the video documents and comments on the changes in the community and the horror of possibly becoming a "police state".
