Alma y Corazon features the action at sea, but also gives an underground overview of the town of Puerto Escondido. No longer, a small, sleepy Mexican fishing village, Puerto Escondido is now a booming tourist town built around the barreling beachbreaks that have been attracting surfers since the 60s. Although the Mexican Pipeline is the main attraction, surfers have been spreading up and down the coast both ways to see what is happening, and Alma y Corazon provides some revealing glimpses of secret spots that are about to cause a big sensation in the professional surfing world.

The Hutu-refugees leave the forest, gathering in two gigantic camps. Hundreds of refugees die every day from diseases and malnutrition The Rwandans are promised repatriation with airplanes out of Kisangani. The film traces those refugees into the heart of the rainforest, and the hopeless attempts to help them.. But only four weeks later, the unprotected UN-camps are again attacked by machine-gun fire, deliberately massacred by factions of the rebel army (AFDL) of today’s Democratic Republic Congo. Returning to the now abandoned family farm, a man’s memories of his past resurface. Seen through the eyes of his younger self, Maurice’s most vivid memory is of his friendship with Teeka, his pet goose, and the sole refuge this provides from a violent relationship with his parents. As Maurice and Teeka escape deeper into a fantasy world inspired by Tarzan comics, the goose realizes that beneath all the play lies a dark universe from which neither he nor Maurice will be able to escape. In all of Naples, photographer Oreste Pipolo is renowned for his wedding photographs. An album with the heavily accentuated romantic pictures of Pipolo is, like a copious dinner in an expensive hotel, an essential part of a successful wedding. If need be, every self-respecting bridal couple will spend their last savings to be able to engage Pipolo. In ORESTE PIPOLO, the city of Naples and in particular the Neapolitan wedding is the universe where Pipolo holds sway. We see him routinely handling nervous couples and making preparations for the ceremony of yet another pair, meanwhile constantly commanding his assistants. But when his customers have disappeared from sight another Pipolo appears, one who after thirty years in business is fed up with it and really cannot stand to see another bridal couple.

Two contemporary poets, one from America (Lyn Hejinian), the other from Russia (Arkadii Dragomoshchenko) are asked to begin a correspondence based on a list of ordinary words such as 'home,' 'book,' 'poverty,' 'violence.' They reflect on each word, considering its conventional meaning and what it means to them personally. The resulting extraordinary five-year dialogue is by turns poignant, profound and funny. Both poets move seamlessly from present to past, a move echoed by the use of striking new and archival footage from both countries. Narrative, travelogue, and memoir are combined in a fusion of image, sound and word that is a total sensual experience. As the film progresses and intimacy grows, both the similarities and differences between Russian and American ways of grasping the world are revealed. Letters Not About Love becomes both a revealing portrait of two cultures and a compelling exploration of language, communication, and the art of mutual understanding.

Director's description: "I want to show you a world that you have never seen." I think this is something that all computer graphics producers strive for. What to create?! How do you create it with computer graphics? The skill of drawing does not change that much when performed on a computer instead of paper. This work is a mixture of traditional cel-based animation, 3-D animation and 2-D computer graphics techniques, each with its own history and production standards. My theme for this production was "The Transformation of Time and Space." I used ToonShader and hand drawn animation to achieve the desired effect. I think that I have succeeded in creating a world that you have never seen.

In the Romanian town of Craiova, five hundred elderly people are passing their days in a home, for which they pay with their paltry pensions. Every day looks the same, every activity is predictable. Even the people‘s complaints are part of the daily routine. One of the residents hopes in vain that a lottery ticket will bring him refuge. For six days, filmmakers Andreea Paduraru and Cristi Puiu try to get through to these people, who are carrying their whole past on their backs. To the question what the best days of their lives was, nobody can or wants to give an answer. Nearly everyone immediately starts about the day-to-day worries and problems in the home. Finally, one woman tells about her activities as head of the research department of the government of Ceausescu, with whom she once had an argument. Another resident recalls his time as a soldier in World War II and proceeds to the order of the day.

The main characters of the film are two small boys who share the throne of Karmapa, the highest office of one of Tibetan Buddhism's main sects and the third in line after the Dalai Lama and Panchen Lama. As with the Dalai Lama, Karmapa is the same soul which reincarnates in each successor to the office, who is identified by omens, portents and other signs. The Karmapa line actually pre-dates the Dalai Lama's, and their respective importance has alternated in the course of history with either the Karmapa or Dalai Lama holding precedence. Only one of the current Karmapas lives in Tibet, who is recognized by the Dalai Lama but controlled by the Chinese government for political ends. The second Karmapa lives in New Delhi, India and was selected by a Tibetan group in exile. The film was shot in India, Nepal and Tibet and features the Dalai Lama as narrator, providing an incisive spiritual and political view of occupied Tibet.
