What is Supernova? 3 really large kids from a planet called Cynot 3. When the Smarmies (sick creatures bent on smothering the world with good will & love) blew up Cynot 3 in a supernova, Art, Jo, & Dave escape only to crash land on a strange world called Earth. With supercomputer/babysitter Pal 4000 at the helm of the spacevan, the guys learn valuable lessons about the Heimlich maneuver, lip sync-ing and making sure their spacevan is powered with plenty of rock & roll. Of course the smarmies are never far behind, as they won't rest until every last Cynotian has been loved to death.

The contradictions between her traditional Latin upbringing and her identity as a lesbian leave her conflicted on how to handle her grief. This short film movingly explores the bonds of friendship and love between gay women and men and the AIDS.

Two-channel installation. Cameras were attached to both ends of a seesaw in a playground, capturing the blurred scenic views with ambient sound coming from the opposite ends in a continuous cyclical motion of ups and downs. One video captures a perspective facing the sun, while the other has its back to it; 30 minutes footage were recorded between 4pm and 5pm on a sunny, breezy afternoon.

A litany of events followed: American missionaries preached unfamiliar ideas and customs; sugarcane and pineapple plantations absorbed individual farmlands; waves of immigrant workers arrived, making Hawaiians a minority in their own land; and WWII brought a lasting military presence. University of Hawai'i sociologists estimate that the extinction of full-blooded Hawaiians could come within the next 45 years.
