The nation, the country, where do we belong in it? In this film through conversation and poetry two poets meet for the telling and the listening. Adrienne Rich is a distinguished American feminist poet, and author of numerous books of prose, poetry, essays and speeches. Dionne Brand is a Trinidadian-Canadian femininst poet, writer and filmmaker. Incisive and inquisitive, the two women meet to discuss the world as they each see it. Claiming any subject, they talk about events as they see them, analytic, contemplative, honest and open ended. Topics include political issues, feminism, racism and lesbianism, among others. The viewer is invited into the exchange by the familiar images of two women talking intimately around a kitchen table, in corridors, or casually outdoors in the United States, Tobago and Canada. Shot in black and white and in colour, the conversation takes us over the territories of their poetry.

Hemp first appeared in the Far East about 12,000 years before Christ. In daily life "Cannabis Sativa" or hemp was used for making cloth paper and bows. In sacred use it was a medicine and was used in many religious uses in India and with the Scythians. The twentieth century establishes the duality of the plant. In Europe as in China, hemp is used in the textile industry while it is used once more medically in the treatment of numerous disorders. Disadvantaged by the interdictions which it incurs as a psychotropic herb, hemp is a real economic and ecological problem today.

The women of Belfast played a unique role in holding together their families and communities during the Troubles in Northern Ireland. Filmed during the fragile 17-month paramilitary cease-fire, Daughters of the Troubles: Belfast Stories looks at the challenges facing women trying to put their direct experience of grassroots problems on the agenda of the established political parties. Their strength, first exhibited on the community level, started to reach a wider public.

Anaphase is the performance of Ohad Naharin, the famous choreographer and artistic director of Batscheva Dance Company from Israel, which had a successful international tour in the 90s. By integrating dance, theatre, rock music and film in short fast scenes this choreography exceeds the limits of dance. ANAPHASE. THE FILM is an effect of a creative collaboration between Ohad Naharin and Levi Zini, film’s director who managed to bring the experience of watching a live show to the cinema audience. The film isn’t a registration of a performance, but an electrifying translation of the choreography to the film medium.

Shinohara-san, is it all right if I don't study? In a dormitory of a preparatory school before the winter course. Ishikuro is told about a rumour by Shinohara, his roommate who is like a prisoner in the dormitory. He is told that Tachibana, who lives next door, has recently seen his grades soar because of the drugs he is taking. Ishiguro is sceptical, but Shinohara invites him to sneak into Tachibana's room to see if it is true. They find a bottle of the drug on his desk. Is the time spent for a single purpose long or short? The film captures the long and short days of a group of ronin students who have grown tired of the pressure of life, including Shinohara, who lives aloofly, saying that "the only way to escape the weight of time that has passed is to lighten oneself up," with the light and withering touch of a famous essay.
