Pink Floyd: The Story

Documentary broadcast by the BBC on 15 November 1994, produced at the time of "The Division Bell" tour. Although Roger Waters declined to grant an interview in this programme, the post-Waters era is only briefly mentioned (during the last 2 minutes). The rest is focused on the band's history with Waters. The documentary not only features interviews with all three members of Pink Floyd at the time, but also includes interesting interviews with several people closely related to the band: Andrew King, Joe Boyd, Mike Leonard, Storm Thorgerson, Ron Geesin, Clare Torry , Douglas Adams, and others. It also contains rare archive footage, such as extracts from 1968's "Tomorrow's World" programme and a very original film showing the band recording for the song "Marooned" in David Gilmour's studio-boat, the Astoria, with Bob Ezrin playing bass in this session.

They're placed in a cell with another woman, who turns out to be last night's mugger, a down-and-out young woman named Cordelia (Dee). Relationships between each pair of women and among the four of them go through changes as the afternoon passes.

Despite the stylish pictures with a French taste, the story deepens from ennui to horror. The first half of the film, "the sense of alienation peculiar to a period when one is not young enough to be called a girl, but young enough to be called a woman", becomes "a scary story in the style of modern folklore" at the end.

Judge Not

Fuzoku is nothing, so pick up a pick-up. Ken is a university student who refuses to take anything seriously except picking up girls. Shin, a junior student who spends all his time picking up girls with Ken, has a girlfriend called Sakura for the first time. Shin worries about himself in terms of love. Shin gets angry at Ken's attitude of making fun of him, and they finally get into a fistfight. Ken loses out and gets injured, but still goes out into the night downtown to pick up girls again... Conversation between Ken and Shin, who seem to be talking but do not communicate. Ken's pick-up, where he is actually not interested in the other person. Sakura, who doesn't explain anything. The bright emptiness of a generation living with language that does not produce communication is portrayed with a fixed camera like a photo box and night photography.
