The band used a £10,000 sound system that was won by a prison warder, according to the Daily Mirror. The event was part of a wider effort to use music as a rehabilitation tool for inmates, with the prison officer behind the competition entry also believing music could be a valuable aid.

It's based on Arcana Celestia by Swedenborg, a Swedish esoteric theologian from the 18th Century who started seeing ghosts, angels and demons around him. Instead of seeing a physician about it, he accepted the fact and began studying and interviewing his own hallucinations, like an anthropologist. He was convinced that people in hell are happy, because you find what you want there.

Upon his arrival, Splash is constantly hit upon by gay men, and his advances are rejected by many local lesbians. Just about to return back to California, Splash runs into Axel, the self-proclaimed "King of the Straight Scene". Soon, Splash is introduced to the vivacious Jennifer, and the two fall for each other.

It follows him all the way from the rural Ivory Coast to East Hampton, Long Island, where he bargains for a sale. The film shows how (through occasionally hilarious and frequently fantastic tales about the art objects) he adds economic value and changes the "meaning" of what he sells by interpreting and mediating between the cultural values of African producers and Western consumers.
