Eyes

Part of the COI's infamous "Drinking And Driving Wrecks Lives" campaign which ran between 1987 and 1997. We see a single, uninterrupted shot but this time it's of a young woman laying on the asphalt after being hit by a drunk driver. As the camera pans slowly away from her eyes (one of which is dilated, an indicator of severe brain trauma) we see paramedics trying to resuscitate her as she lays lifeless in a pool of her own blood. Played over the footage is the audio of the drunk driver who caused the accident being quizzed by a police officer, desperately pleading for her to "be alright" – though it appears that the paramedics' attempts to resuscitate her continue to be futile.

"This is John Robbins' amazing video documentary Diet for a New America (1992) which explores the causes why Americans eat so much meat and what does this do to their health and the environment. Although it is commonly known today that meat and diary products are one of the primary causes for heart and other deadly diseases, Americans don't seem to care at all and are living (and dying) with them every day. When this award-winning documentary was first aired the US National Cattlemen's Association mounted an aggressive campaign to discredit the program and keep it from being aired. But the attempt to thwart the show failed, and the program went on to be one of public television's all-time most successful documentaries.

The Orb's Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld: Patterns and Textures is a 1992 video by the UK electronic music collective The Orb. It was filmed and recorded at a live performance at Brixton Fridge, London, 12 May 1991. A limited edition of the original UK VHS tape release came with a bonus CD (catalogue number ORBFREECD1) of the soundtrack. The soundtrack was also included as a bonus disk on a limited edition of the initial UK vinyl pressings of U.F.Orb.

Kafka

Against a set which has been designed in a Kafkaesque and claustrophobic way, Rybczynski has recreated a World of Kafka which corresponds well with Kafka's maze-like novels. It is an abstract and unpredictable world where Kafka himself moves between the scenes of his own stories, from America via The Castle to Metamorphosis, and The Trial is of course the frame story throughout. Rybczynski has chosen to portray Josef K as an alter ego. Other characters become members of his own family, which means that Rybczynski makes a kind of exemplary, depth psychological close reading of his work.

It features supposed experts on sexuality being interviewed by a television talk show anchorwoman. These “experts” espouse the many, often ill-informed, theories presented to explain homosexuality. Intercut with the drama are actual recordings of a radio talkback therapist and documentary interviews with lesbians. In a bright and savvy way, WAR ON LESBIANS reveals how far many of the myths about lesbians are from truth. Slowly Turning Narrative

Slowly Turning Narrative includes two projections on a large central rotating screen. One presents images of virtually everything that constitutes life, embracing the broadest sweep from birth to death. The other shows a close-up of Viola’s head incanting “the one who lives,” “the one who acts,” “the one who reads,” and more. As this screen rotates, a mirror on the back comes into view, reflecting the image of the viewer in this video evocation of human existence.
