Coinciding with the 25th Anniversary of the band’s formation, this live concert is an evocative testament to one of the greatest exponents of British progressive rock. Opening with an extended and haunting rendition of Mockingbird, the guitars of John Lees and Colin Browne blend magnificently on Medicine Man and Play to the World, with Les Holroyd rendering a dramatic vocal performance on the latter. BJH’s more ponderous progressive rock set pieces are pierced by the rousing upbeat guitar-based Life Is for the Living and the crowd pleasing Stand Up.

When Mrs Hegarty Comes to Japan

In 1981, Yuki [Noriko] Sekiguchi went to Australia to study International Relations. She spoke little English, but quickly befriended Joyce and Jack Hegarty, who became her 'second parents'. While close, Noriko sensed in Jack a buried resentment towards her, perhaps due to his experience fighting Japanese in World War II. Jack died in 1988 with this issue unresolved. Now retired and widowed, Mrs Hegarty lives alone in a Sydney western suburb. She is a devout Catholic and bowls at Ashfield Lawn Bowling Club. Mrs Hegarty expressed a desire to visit Japan and Yuki saw this as an opportunity to right some wrongs. In appreciation of Mrs Hegarty's hospitality, the natural parents of her 'adopted Japanese daughter' agreed to host Mrs Hegarty in their Yokohama home for three weeks.

Independent documentary by Jiang Yue. Excerpted from production notes: "At the foot of Petal Place, there was once a large stretch of vacant ground called "Snow." The Buddhist pilgrims and beggars from all parts of Tibet gathered together in this place. Later, after the liberation, there were gradually some permanent dwellers here, so the "Snow" neighborhood Committee came into being. Today this neighborhood has several households, totally over one thousand "dwellers." But it is said that a large-scale demolishing of their houses in order to move to a new place has already begun; the former square will be restored here, The old people on "Snow" ground sigh with emotion about it."

Arnold Golay, Toy-maker

Arnold Golay, 91, a former watchmaker who once had learned to make a timepiece entirely by hand. This know-how has always stood him in good stead. Upon retirement, Golay became a full-time toy maker. Even as a watchmaker, he used to make toys for his own children. The film follows his steps as he builds a toy hand-cart, from raw wood to finished product. We also see his collection of toys, which are reduced-scale models of all the carts, wheel barrows and other implements used on the farm before the invention of the tractor.
