The circus is in town and heralds its coming with a parade. Elephants dance with bells on their feet, and even turn their trunks into steering wheels and pretend to be cars. The giraffes dance, too, with wooden clogs on their feet. The mouse clown in the parade performs somersaults, but his impressive antics are mainly for his girlfriend, the mouse bareback rider who is just ahead of him, blowing kisses from her fat horse. The side show features a scantily-clad fat lady, who shakes her exposed buttocks provocatively, enticing the audience to flock inside the tent. Inside, the bareback rider performs her gravity-defying stunts. The clown forms his arms into a hoop for leopards to leap through. He even makes the "okay" sign, and a leopard defies physics by jumping through his fingers (and losing his spots in the process). The ringmaster doubles as a lion tamer and performs a dance with a ferocious lion, who ends the routine by kicking his tamer in the rear. The clown angers the ringmaster by laughing at him. The ringmaster retaliates by adding extra gunpowder to the clown's cannon, causing it to shoot him through the tent and out of sight. When the clown returns, he discovers the ringmaster has stolen his two-timing girlfriend.

It looks as if the boys might no longer need to fish off the end of the pier to feed themselves when Ollie spots a newspaper ad seeking heirs to the $3,000,000 estate of the late Ebenezer Laurel. Despite Stan being unaware of ANY relationship between him and the dead man, Olie decides to pass him off as one of the heirs but when the duo arrive for the reading of the will, they learn that Ebenezer was murdered and that Stan, along with all the other relatives, is a prime suspect.

Stanley and Oliver are trying to spend a relaxing night at home playing checkers, but the antics of their mischievous sons keep interrupting their recreation. Exasperated, the fathers send their misbehaving offspring to bed and start in on a furniture-destroying game of billiards. Upstairs, the kids continue to cause a ruckus and leave the bathtub faucet running full force. Finally, Oliver asks if they'll go to sleep if he gives them each a drink of water, then heads for the bathroom door.

Mom's Night Out is a short comedy film about mothers behaving badly. Bailey, Sarah and Nina, all hate another mom, Teresa, who insults and judges them whenever she gets the chance. They are all tipped over the edge when Teresa wins a bottle of wine at a school run auction that Sarah was hoping to get. After drinking too much at their "book club," the three friends decide to break into Teresa's house and steal the bottle of wine; hopefully getting back what should have been theirs and giving Teresa what's coming to her.

In a serene vacation home in the Palm Springs desert, a young woman (Wendy McColm) arrives there with her friends, a slightly older married couple (Nora Kirkpatrick and Matt Peters), and the couple are subjecting her to a rather intense version of a blind date: a single man (Nathan Stewart-Jarrett) she's never met will soon be joining them for the weekend. Like any jaded millennial, the woman greets the impending set up with a sense of dread: "These things never work out!" she says on the car ride out. But, when her suitor arrives, things don't go quite as expected.

Benny Rubin was a comic from the silent and early days of sound. Later, he took on acting in character roles. But in "The Delicatessen Kid", Rubin also sings and dances...something you don't often get to see.In this film, Benny goes to work at his dad's store and delicatessen. Repeatedly, various stars of the stage (including Bill 'Bojangles' Robinson) come to buy food to go. The father doesn't recognize them and isn't impressed when Benny recognizes them and tells him who they are. How does it all end? See the film.This is a clever film but not exactly a comedy...more a nice film with a bit of singing and dancing. Worth seeing....and with surprisingly good sound for a 1929 short.By the way, I saw some folks talking about how this film isn't politically correct. Well, the stereotype is pretty broad when it comes to the father...though back then, such 'stereotypes' were really pretty close to the realities of first-generation immigrants. Plus, and this is important, can the film be politically incorrect if the portrayal is positive....and the father is very much a positive role model.

Oswald is trying the hobo life, but an encounter with a copper takes the keenness out of his freedom. Life looks promising again when he meets Brother Bear hobo [Pete] who is boiling coffee over a campfire. Oswald donates an egg to the repast-which is promptly stolen. Suddenly they see a freshly-roasted chicken in a pantry window. Oswald is made to act as purloiner. His first attempt at theft is squashed by a ferocious bulldog. Finally a neat-but-not-flashy set of long willies on a line acts as end-man, and trolleys the bird to Ozzie. Foiled again (for a policeman happens on the scene), down the unfriendly road rushes our hero. Then the policeman seizes the fowl. The bulldog, spying this, chases the officer into the far horizon, much to Oswald's glee.

Big-time (so they think) vaudeville stars Stanley and Oliver take the train to Pottsville, their next booking. On board, they bumble into the wrong sleeping compartment, startling a semi-dressed woman. Her irate husband mistakes another passenger for the intruder and starts a coat-ripping free-for-all. The boys spend the rest of the trip trying to squeeze themselves into their cramped single upper berth.

An octopus slithers over objects on land - a doll, a skull - then oozes along the shore into the sea. It secretes its ink. The camera follows it along rocks into deeper water, watching closely as it breathes. Its eye is closed then open. Simple titles, in French and German, suggest what to watch. The octopus alternates the use of breathing tubes on either side. It changes color as cells on its skin contract or dilate. Extreme magnification helps us see these changes. Two struggle, one dies. On shore, fishermen catch them and put them in pails. A single tentacle still has life. Back in the sea, two octopi attack a crab. Soon only a couple of crab legs are visible in the mouth of the victor. Original title: La pieuvre

Felix finds himself in another foreign port; this time it appears to be India. There are the usual obligatory Indian stereotypes: snake charmers, elephants, tigers, et. al. Felix decides that a mistreated elephant will be his ticket to the big show, the circus. There are a couple of those bizarre visuals, like using the stripes from a tiger as a ladder, but most of this is pretty tired.

Oswald takes Ortensia ("Sadie") out for a ride in his jalopy and soon finds himself in a race with a chasing police car.

The gang are living in a posh, but boring, hotel. They decide to stage a circus with their motley collection of dressed up pet animals which gets out of hand causing chaos throughout the hotel.
