"Girl wanted," says the sign. "Top floor. Female preferred." Betty Boop sees it, but it seems so does the entire female population of the city. The top of the building bulges with applicants, but Betty wins the job from the fat, lecherous boss by sitting in his lap and singing "You'd Be Surprised." The others are dispatched through a trap door. Betty can't type, or do much of anything else, but she sure is cute. The boss chases her around the office, but Betty manages to get to the phone and call the police. The police, the army, the navy and the air force all come to her rescue.

Sammy, an average teenager, apparently has one flaw: an "attitude" about driving. He mocks those who drive safely, and speeds all over town, encouraged by his girlfriend, who finds his recklessness "manly" and "courageous." Sammy finally bites the bullet, and is killed in a car crash--caused not only by his speeding, says a police officer, but by his "immature defiance of authority" and "unhealthy thrill seeking."

She-Bop is about power, rage and seizing control of your life. The star of the film in the film is cartoon Kali, the great destroyer/creator goddess. She-Bop combines drawings on index cards and puppets, abstraction and character animation. It is based on a poem by Carolyn Myers, interpreted and performed by jazz singer Carolyn Lochert Curtis.

After preaching the power of modern (for 1956) atomic weapons, civil defense is what saves everyday citizens. The scene shifts to Reading, PA where 8,000 volunteers contribute to the civil defense effort. They may take first aid classes or firearms training for auxiliary police. The national alert system and local communications systems are all in place. All that is needed, the film suggests, is for everyone to be alert.

Davida enters a shop shortly before off-time and wants to buy a bathtub. Just the manager is still there. As business is not well, he is willing to stay longer. Davida wants to try the bathtubs. Although this is not allowed in the shop the manager agrees. As if that is not enough, Davida says she wants the bathtub for two and needs to be sure it fits her needs. She wants the manager to take place in the bathtub too.

Outside the El Rey Theatre in Oakland, California, Torrid Terry Lane and Suzy entice a sailor into coming inside to see the show. After he shouts, "Bring on the girls!", the dancers perform a musical number. Ginger DuVal then performs a strip tease. Next, Billie Collins takes the stage for a short comedy skit, followed by Suzy, "The Petit French Doll," who performs an exotic dance. The Richards, a hand-balancing team, display their specialty. Several comedy skits follow, interspersed with dances by Marie Val and Lilly LaMont, and the entire staff of El Rey Girls depicting famous paintings in pictures and poses.

A violent man faces the illusions of justice

It's survival of the fittest, the fastest and the fiercest in this striking IMAX wildlife adventure about a young rogue nomadic lion who invades the domain of an elder established king of the jungle and challenges him for pride supremacy at a strategic watering hole in the Kalahari Desert in Botswana. The documentary, a National Geographic production, was shot over two years by director Tim Liversedge, who also provided the stunning cinematography. Narrated by James Garrett.

Windy loses his car to the bank since he has not paid the last installment, but the Repo Man runs into the car of a Hollywood executive and falsely blames Windy for the accident. The man sends Windy to work in the Publicity Department to pay for the damages in his car. Meanwhile, actress Betty Gray is in trouble with the studio due to bad publicity and the studio will call off her contract if she gets in trouble again. When Windy Riley arrives in the department, he believes that he is expert in publicity and he kidnaps film director Joseph Ross expecting to promote the film and Betty Gray. But snoopy reporter Lane finds that the director is missing and Windy needs to bring the director back in the studio otherwise Betty Gray will be fired.
