The Merchandise Mart in Chicago is the largest building in the world devoted to the display and sale of wholesale home goods. Although the goods are available only for purchase by retailers, who in combination spend several million dollars per working day at the mart, the public is also provided tours through the facility to view the merchandise that will eventually be for sale at their favorite retailer. The goods are set up in attractive displays side-by-side with their competitors so that the buyers and public can comparison shop. The facility also acts as a small city. Many who work in the facility need not leave the building to eat, shop, or relax. And many functions that exist in cities are also dedicated within the facility, such as having its own police force and post office.

Here, an old Egyptian is asked by his granddaughter about those mysteries of which we all heard in one way or the other. The action takes us to Howard Carter, who, after years and years of searching, finally found King Tutankhamen's (Tut-ench-Amun) grave in 1922. This was a major event in archaeology, as this grave was never robbed and therefore in the same condition as it was left (est.) 1339 B.C. We also get to see the Nile's wells and other historic landmarks that make Egypt an important part of world history.

We see a number of products living up to their names: vanishing cream, reducing pills, sleeping powders, smelling salts, cough medicine. On to the lunch counter: a giant malt (sign). More products: shaving brush, Krazy mineral water, a rubber band (and brushes dancing to it). A musical revue: the clocks all sing "Start the Day Right"; an order pad would "Love to Take Orders From You"; a ballet troupe wants to "Shake Your Powder Puff"; and so on. Greeting cards greet our tourists. The mousetraps are harmless but the cat next to them isn't, and thus ends the tour. An annoying little boy who's been chatting away the whole time finally gets a jar of alum in the face to shut him up.
