Righteous Rebel: Rabbi Avi Weiss

2014 • 49 min
For over forty years, both from an international platform as well as from his local pulpit in The Bronx, Rabbi Avi Weiss has been an important voice speaking up against injustice for both Jews and non-Jews. In the documentary, filmmaker Phil Schneider provides a compelling, insightful, and comprehensive look into Weiss' extraordinary life, and how, as a result of his crusading activism and "speaking truth to power," he has inspired others to "show up, stand up, and speak up" in times of crisis. The film also explores the softer side of Rabbi Weiss and his relentless commitment to create an environment of inclusion and dignity for his community.

Walter Williams: Suffer No Fools

2014 • 56 min
On the major social and political issues of our time, economist, author, and columnist Walter Williams is one of America's most provocative thinkers. He is black, yet he opposes affirmative action. He believes that the Civil Rights Act was a major error, that the minimum wage actually creates unemployment, and that occupational and business licensure and industry regulation work against minorities and others in American business. Perhaps, most importantly, he has come to believe that it has been the welfare state that has done to black Americans what slavery could never do: destroy the black family

Vipera Life – A serpent’s life

2014 • 52 min • Hungary
The viper. The word alone fills most people with dread. It calls to mind some kind of huge, writhing monster, lying in wait to bite. The Hungarian meadow viper (Vipera ursinii rakosiensis) however, is not large and doesn’t attack. It is rather small and it would rather flee. It’s venom is deadly only to grasshoppers and crickets. It almost disappeared because it’s habitats were plowed under and drained. It’s not easy being legless in a world ruled by four-wheeled machines and two-legged creatures. The survivors retreated to the sand dunes of Kiskunság National Park. This is where our story’s protagonist, 2K366/08, entered the world. This is her story.
