George gives Joan a baby duck for her birthday. While they are out celebrating, Tom goes after the duck but his plans are thwarted when the duck (and, later, Jerry) finds a jar of vanishing cream and uses it to well, vanish, and get even with Tom (for a while, at least).

LOVER MAN tells the story of a bargirl in a brothel who believes her roommate Linda has stumbled upon true love with a customer who frequents the bar but never sleeps with any of the girls. On her 30th birthday, the customer owns a car so he drives Linda away from her hard life in New York for a break, and ultimately puts her a train back to her home town. Their relationship remains platonic, but the bartender believes he is her "Lover Man."

The story tracks the education of a student nurse as she works toward graduation and shows the earning of her cap during her student days, in retrospect. At the beginning, she wears the Student Nurse uniform dress and apron only, with no cap. She appears later in the movie as a more experienced Senior student with her cap already wearing a stripe. This was frequently done in the three year hospital programs to differentiate the Junior level students from the Seniors, more experienced and closer to Graduation. The capping ceremony illustrated shows the bare headed students receiving their plain white cap, and addressing it as something from her past that she will remember fondly.

Two deserters clash over the fate of their German captive. Flanders, 1916. Tommy Tull, a young West Indies recruit, flees a violent mission in the forests of Belgium. Exhausted and terrified, he encounters Finn, a mysterious Irish officer, who takes him to an isolated cabin and takes care of him. Tommy starts to suspect that Finn might be a deserter as well when he suggests joining forces to ensure their survival. Over the next few days, the two form an unconventional bond, but their newfound peace is quickly tested when a German soldier invades in the middle night. The town of Nassau acts the commercial hub for the Bahamas Islands, which consists of four thousand islands and keys. However, Georgetown takes center stage as the site of the Out Island Regatta, which unlike yacht races, starts at full anchor. Most of the sailboats participating are local built and captained, both geared toward local waters. Although spectators may see a calm affair, there is always action aboard the boats, their crews who must be aware of constant changes in conditions. It is a competitive race with some close calls, but there can only be one winner in each class. After the race, everyone is welcomed to join in the post race festivities before everyone heads home to plan and scheme for next year.

The late-40s to the early/mid-50s Casper the Friendly Ghost cartoons had a higher budget and overall the overall quality was much better. Onwards, the quality did diminish quite significantly though the overall cartoons varied, some decent, many mediocre.Famous Studios' cartoons are not for all tastes, but my opinion is that their early stuff and some of the early 50s output are good. While they were very formulaic they were always well animated and voiced with some funny parts, some poignancy and decent characters and their regular composer Winston Sharples could always be relied on to write a great and often outstanding score.Admittedly though, by the mid-50s through to the late-60s Famous Studios' cartoons did get repetitive. While Sharples' music still shone and the voice actors did their best the animation suffered due to lower budgets and tighter deadlines, the humour became more tired and slow in timing than sharp and funny, the stories became increasingly predictable and rehashed and some characters started losing their initial spark, this is particularly true of most of the later Herman and Katnip cartoons.There are far better Casper The Friendly Ghost cartoons out there than 'Line of Screamage', especially the cartoons from 'There's Good Boos Tonight' and 'Boo To You Too' (the cartoons from this to 'Boo Moon' varied but mostly decent), the very unique (and the most original Casper cartoon) 'Boo Moon' is also up there. It does have its good things, but Famous Studios

On the French Riviera, a female cat is frightened by sudden outbursts of barking by every dog around her. So, to scare them away, she paints her back with a white stripe like that of a skunk. The dogs, on seeing her stripe, run away and hide in fright. But she doesn't receive the peace she'd expected, because Pepe Le Pew, the amorous French skunk, sees her, thinks she's a girl skunk, and tries to make love to her.

A shaggy dog is the guard at a farm's chicken coop when a lip-smacking weasel comes along, intending to gain access to the chickens. And, never one to side with a canine, Foghorn Leghorn opts to help the weasel by trying to violently remove the guard dog.

The stooges are three incompetent plumbers who foul up the plumbing in a fancy mansion where a society party is going on. They manage to catch a couple of thieves masquerading as guests before the whole party degenerates into a pie fight.

A snow globe snowman wants to join the other travel souvenirs in a hot party, but the glass dome that surrounds him gets in his way, despite all his efforts.

Jerry's little duckling friend has packed his bag and is all set to fly south for the winter despite the book Jerry keeps showing him that points out that domestic ducks do not fly south, and despite his obvious inability to fly at all. But that doesn't stop him from ending up in Tom's frying pan, at least briefly.

A baby elephant rolls off the circus train and right into Tom's bed. He quickly allies himself with Jerry, and with a rolled-up trunk and some paint, passes himself off as a giant mouse. The two then keep trading places to the bafflement of Tom.
