“Darkness” immerses the viewer in a completely black screen for three minutes. Initially giving the impression of a technical malfunction, the film gradually establishes the existence of a world through sound. Crowds, footsteps, cars, conversations, and the voice of a man waiting for help are heard. But no one stops, no one extends a hand. As the film progresses, the viewer experiences not only the darkness of a visually impaired individual but also the indifference of society. In the end, a small child's outstretched hand becomes the only light in the darkness. “Darkness” is an experimental short film that portrays the invisible loneliness experienced by visually impaired individuals and the apathy of people in a simple yet powerful way.

Life Gave Me A Twist

• 24 min • United States, Not Specified
Life Gave Me a Twist is a feature documentary that follows a woman’s journey through adversity, resilience, and self-reclamation after experiencing emotional harm, systemic obstacles, and life-altering setbacks at a young age. Through personal testimony, reflection, and visual storytelling, the film examines how trauma can shape identity—and how healing begins when one finds the courage to confront, name, and transform that pain. Blending lived experience with broader social context, the documentary gives voice to experiences often minimized or misunderstood, particularly those affecting youth and young adults navigating emotional hardship in silence. Rather than positioning trauma as an endpoint, Life Gave Me a Twist reframes it as a catalyst for growth, agency, and purpose. Designed for both festival audiences and educational impact screenings, the film invites viewers into an intimate, honest exploration of survival and hope—offering a powerful reminder that while life may twist unexpectedly, resilience can redefine the outcome.

Set in a dreamlike desert civilization of gold, ruins, and fading memory, the film follows Aurelia, a radiant fox princess drifting between fantasy and reality. Through music, cinematic imagery, and emotional symbolism, the work explores beauty, longing, and the search for meaning in a fleeting world. Playful, elusive, and quietly self-serving, Aurelia moves through fragments of memory and light — at times distant, at times disarmingly close. As her world unfolds, she reveals not only beauty, but a subtle, human-like desire: to seek warmth, comfort, and something of value in a fleeting world. A cinematic work by Studio Nono, blending AI-generated imagery with anime-inspired visuals, music-led storytelling, and emotionally driven narrative design.
