An Incontinent Truth is a groundbreaking documentary-style film that uses AI technology to shed light on the hidden impact of urinary incontinence. Blending the seriousness of a documentary with the glamour of the Oscars, the film draws the audience in with an unconventional approach—juxtaposing composite stories of everyday struggles against the backdrop of red carpets and awards. Using AI-generated voices, images, and a custom soundtrack for a rarely discussed subject, the film breaks new ground in storytelling. With nods to An Inconvenient Truth and Live Aid, it creates a world where incontinence receives the attention it deserves. Dr. Samantha Pillay’s vision was to leverage AI to overcome barriers of funding, anonymity, and traditional film production, delivering a powerful message about ending the stigma and creating societal change. LAMENTO is a poetic and metaphorical reflection on time, memory, the immigrant journey, and the looming impact of climate change, starring Grammy-winning artist Gaby Moreno and actor Tony Revolori. Set against the surreal, haunting backdrop of an abandoned Guatemalan beach resort slowly reclaimed by the sea and teetering on the edge of disappearance, the film follows Gaby on a poignant journey to rediscover a place from her childhood, now on the brink of destruction. Accompanied by a local fisherman (Tony Revolori) and a mysterious companion, FINITOR—a flying obsidian rock with a 3D-scanning lens—they strive to capture and immortalize the soul and memory of a life and a land they left behind, before it all fades away. Inspired by the personal experiences of both Moreno and director Diego Contreras—who left Guatemala at 18 to build their lives in Los Angeles—the film pays tribute to their roots while embracing the pursuit of new horizons in Hollywood and beyond. This project explores the history of information dissemination, with a particular focus on the spread of rumors. It focuses on the figure of the Tatzelwurm, a legendary Swiss cryptid whose existence, though unproven, is the subject of much speculation. This choice of subject highlights a caricatured archetype of the legendary creature, fertile ground for rumors, as was the case with the Tatzelwurm in the 1930s. A series of short videos was created to illustrate this concept, incorporating various codes and visual registers from ancient and contemporary eras, from wildlife films to cinema posters and found footage. To realize this series, stagings were captured using models, mixing AI-generated and archival images. AWARDS:

ROUND 13 is a poetic mix of biographically inspired fragmentary scenes from the difficult childhood and youth of a boy from a forgotten place, Dejan Zavec. He later becomes the World Boxing Champion which however does not represent the expected salvation and satisfaction. Through symbolic embodiment of Kurent, a mighty mythical creature, Dejan reaches the final battle outside the boxing ring, the Round 13, where he symbolically confronts his childhood fears. You can win in 12 rounds, but there will always be a round 13. Dejan Zavec personifies this message with his life journey. Each defeat and each victory represents only one step in the long battle of life. The ultimate goal is to overcome inner fears and obstacles, which gives us hope and strength to become the best version of ourselves. Original/Alternative Title: Dejan Zavec, 13. runda AWARDS:
